Emmanuel Places 103 Student-Athletes on Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic Team

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced Monday that 1,555 student-athletes from the GNAC, 103 of whom are from Emmanuel, have been named to the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team, following the 2023-24 academic year.

Hayes, Marks, Penney Score Spots on CSC Softball Academic All-District Team

BOSTON - The junior trio of Sammy Hayes (Braintree, Mass.), Madison Marks (Edgewater Park, N.J.), and Amanda Penney (Warwick, R.I.) have all been named to the College Sports Communicators (formally CoSIDA) Division III Softball Academic All-District Team®, as announced by the CSC on May 28.

Softball Posts Five Players Across 2024 All-Conference Awards

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced Tuesday afternoon that seniors Olivia Conti (Cranston, R.I.) and Emma Crisafulli (Loudonville, N.Y.), juniors Taylor Chelak (Westborough, Mass.) and Madison Marks (Edgewater Park, N.J.), and first-year Alexis Martineau (Merrimack, N.H.) have all been voted to a GNAC All-Conference Team, following the 2024 season.

Saints Softball Falls 3-1 in Pod B Elimination Game to Lasell

NEWTON, Mass. – Facing elimination in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Postseason this morning, No. 2 North seed Emmanuel softball moved along in the loser’s bracket with a 4-2 win in nine innings, over No. 4 South seed Albertus Magnus on Taylor Field. The loss for the Falcons eliminated them from Pod B play.

NEWTON, Mass. – In the second-longest game in Emmanuel softball’s last 20 years, an RBI single in the top of the 11th by Simmons College sophomore Piper Kinney (Marlborough, Mass.) ended a two-day, Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pod B game on Friday, 2-1 in favor of Simmons, at Taylor Field at Lasell University.

BOSTON – Emmanuel Softball opens up the 2024 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Postseason as the No. 2 seed in the North Division and, in the newly formatted postseason, starts play in Pod B on Thursday afternoon against the No. 3 North-seeded Simmons Sharks, hosted by Lasell University at 4:30 p.m.

Saints Softball Clinches No. 2 North Seed After Sunday Split at New England College

HENNIKER, N.H. – The Emmanuel College softball team concluded their 2024 regular season with a split in their doubleheader against New England College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Sunday at Old Concord Road Field. Trailing for most of game one, the Pilgrims rallied to prevail 6-5 in extra innings before falling short in game two, 10-0.

STANDISH, Maine – Saint Joseph’s College and Emmanuel College split a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) North Division softball doubleheader at Richard W. Bailey Field on Saturday afternoon. The Saints won the first game, 2-0, and the Monks rallied to win the nightcap, 5-4.

BOSTON – The Emmanuel College softball team (16-12, 9-1 GNAC) earned a Senior Day sweep of Norwich (4-12, 2-10 GNAC) on Sunday afternoon at Clemente Field in Great Northeast Athletic Conference action. The Saints used an eight-run first inning in game one to tally a 13-0 (F/5) victory and another eight-run inning, this time in the second, to take game two, 15-2 (F/5).

BOSTON – Taylor Chelak (Westborough, Mass.) homered in each game to help lead the Emmanuel College softball team (14-12, 7-1 GNAC) to two Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) wins over Regis (7-19, 2-8 GNAC) on Saturday at Clemente Field. The Saints tallied 25 hits and 24 runs over the twin bill, winning the first game 13-0 (F/5) and the second game 11-2 (F/5).

Softball Splits Tuesday Twin Bill at Wheaton After 3-2 Win in Game Two

NORTON, Mass. - Emmanuel Saints softball battled to a split of Tuesday's doubleheader against Wheaton after dropping the first game 3-0, the Saints took the win in game two, 3-2, in non-conference play at Clark Softball Field. The Saints have split or won both games of a doubleheader in their last five series, dating back to losses against Wentworth on April 2.

BOSTON – The Saints tallied 22 hits and allowed just one run as the Emmanuel College softball team (9-7, 2-0 GNAC) completed a two-game sweep over Anna Maria (8-10, 0-2 GNAC) in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play on Sunday afternoon at Clemente Field. Emmanuel took the first contest of the day 4-0 before an offensive explosion led to a 9-1 (F/5) victory in game two for a strong start to the conference season.

Saints Softball Wins Home Opener vs. UMass Boston, 8-5

BOSTON – Following a 16-day layoff between games, Emmanuel Saints softball returned to action, claiming an 8-5 win in their home opener, against UMass Boston on Monday evening at Clemente Field. Emmanuel and UMass Boston opted to play a single game in lieu of the traditional doubleheader, after temperatures outside on Monday night dipped well below freezing.

CLERMONT, Fla. – Emmanuel College Softball (3-6) dropped their final two games at THE Spring Games in Florida on Friday afternoon. In the first matchup, the Saints were edged by Mount Union (9-1), 2-0. A late-inning offensive surge from Allegheny (9-0) powered the Gators past Emmanuel, 5-0, in game two.

Saints Beat Wittenberg Via Marks' Shutout in Game One, Fall to Westminster (PA) in Game Two

CLERMONT, Fla. – Saints Softball (3-4) earned a win over Wittenberg (6-5) but fell to Westminster (PA) (3-4) in a doubleheader at THE Spring Games in Florida on Thursday. In game one, Emmanuel rode a shutout pitching performance from Madison Marks (Edgewater Park, N.J.) to a 3-0 victory. A fifth inning offensive surge from Westminster (PA) was enough to down the Saints, 8-5, in the second game of the day.

Saints Suffer Loss to No. 1 Trine in Game One, Defeated in Extra Innings by Penn State Brandywine in Game Two

LEESBURG, Fla. – Saints Softball (2-3) dropped a doubleheader on Wednesday in their third play-date at THE Spring Games in Florida. In the first game, the nation’s top ranked team, the Trine Thunder (6-1), defeated the Saints 10-0 (F/5). After falling behind 7-0 to Penn State Brandywine (5-3) in the second game, the Saints came all the way back to send the game to extra innings but fell 8-7 (F/8).

Saints Split Day Two in Florida, Defeat Bluffton 13-5 (F/6), Fall to Saint Mary's (Minn.)

CLERMONT, Fla. – An offensive surge in the fifth inning of game one earned Saints Softball (2-1) a 13-5 (F/6) victory over Bluffton (0-3) to start day two of Emmanuel’s trip to THE Spring Games in Florida on Monday. In game two, Saint Mary’s of Minnesota (9-1) handed the Saints their first loss of the season in a high-scoring affair that concluded 17-9 (F/6).

Saints Win Season-Opener Over Neumann, 9-2

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Emmanuel College Softball (1-0) got their season started off on the right foot Sunday afternoon with a 9-2 victory over the Neumann University Knights (2-2) at THE Spring Games. The win marked the program’s first season-opener triumph since they defeated Lesley University, 6-4, to begin the 2019-20 season. The win also marked first-year Head Coach Brenna Morrissey's first career victory.

Morrissey Selected as Softball Head Coach at Emmanuel

BOSTON, Mass. - Following a national search, the Emmanuel College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hire of Brenna Morrissey as Head Softball Coach. Morrissey becomes the 14th head coach since the program began competitive play at the NCAA level in 1993 and takes over the role from Olivia Berry who stepped away from her coaching role after the 2023 campaign to focus on her new administrative duties as Director of Athletics at Emmanuel.
