Emmanuel Places 103 Student-Athletes on Great Northeast Athletic Conference Academic Team
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced Monday that 1,555 student-athletes from the GNAC, 103 of whom are from Emmanuel, have been named to the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team, following the 2023-24 academic year.
WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced Monday that 1,555 student-athletes from the GNAC, 103 of whom are from Emmanuel, have been named to the GNAC Academic All-Conference Team, following the 2023-24 academic year.
Emmanuel was one of nine GNAC institutions with at least 100 student-athletes named to the Academic All-Conference squad. Lasell led the way with 139 student-athletes across their 15 Division III athletic programs. Across the 20 sports sponsored by the conference, women's soccer produced the most Academic All-Conference team members with 202.
Women's soccer led all Emmanuel programs, placing 15 student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference squad. As a collection, women's cross country, indoor, and outdoor track and field had 14 members named to the GNAC Academic Team. Women's lacrosse and men's soccer were next from the Saints programs, each producing 13 All-Conference Academic team members.
To qualify for the GNAC Academic All-Conference squad, a student-athlete must be a sophomore in academic standing and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher. The 1,555 student-athletes named to the GNAC Academic Team shattered the previous record high from last season of 1,361 members named to the squad. In addition, it's the seventh consecutive year the GNAC has had at least 1,000 student-athletes on the Academic All-Conference Team.
