Fourth Quarter Comeback Lifts Women's Hoops Past Regis, 61-54
WESTON, Mass. - Trailing through three quarters of action, the Emmanuel College women’s basketball team outscored Regis College 28-17 in the fourth to pull out a 61-54 win in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.

THE LEAD – Trailing through three quarters of action, the Emmanuel College women's basketball team outscored Regis College 28-17 in the fourth to pull out a 61-54 win in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a low-scoring first half that saw Emmanuel leading 20-18 at the break, Regis enjoyed its best performance in the third quarter, outscoring the visitors, 19-13, to take a 37-33 lead into the fourth.
- Pam Gonzalez (Revere, Mass.) led the Pride in the third scoring 12 in the period on 4-for-7 shooting from the field including a three-pointer to give the Pride the two-possession advantage heading into the fourth.
- The Saints came alive in the final stanza putting up 28 points after scoring a total of 33 in the previous three quarters.
- Emmanuel hit a total of eight threes in the period led by Olivia Matela (Swampscott, Mass.) with 12 points and Tiffany Fischer (South River, N.J.) with eight.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Four players finished with double-digit scoring performances for EC led by Fischer who came off the bench to score 14 points and Matela who finished with 12.
- Desiree Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) and Kiera Eubanks (Portland, Maine) both finished with 11 points and double-doubles as Robinson grabbed 10 rebounds and Eubanks finished with a game and career-high 20 rebounds.
- Gonzalez (Revere, Mass.) was the Pride's leading scorer and rebounder, finishing with 23 points and 15 rebounds for the double-double while also managing four steals.
- Courtney Doherty (Willimantic, Conn.) was another major contributor with 11 points while Madi Zancan (Cumberland, R.I.) scored eight and Valerie Whalen (Stoughton, Mass.) grabbed eight rebounds.
