SAINTS PREVIEW GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE AT USM FALL CLASSIC
GORHAM, Maine – The Emmanuel College men’s golf team competed at the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic this weekend at Gorham Country Club. The Saints finished 10th overall in the field as Husson University took home the team crown with a two-day total of 449 (145-304) as Day 1 of play was cut short to only nine holes due to rain.

The Saints finished 10th overall in the field as Husson University took home the team crown with a two-day total of 449 (145-304) as Day 1 of play was cut short to only nine holes due to rain.
Husson's Mackenzie Clow took home medalist honors for the weekend shooting 105 over the 27 holes for an incredible two under (-2) par score, besting the field by five strokes. Clow shot a 36 on Day 1 to enter Day 2 at even par and one stroke behind the leaders before posting a two-under (-2) round of 69 to finish strong.
Emmanuel posted a two-day total of 553 (182-371).
EC freshman Jack Scavone (Auburn, Mass.) carded a two-day total of 123 (40-83) to finish tied for 32nd overall. Scavone carded a 40 during the opening nine holes before closing the weekend out with an 83 on in his full round.
Sophomore Anthony Springthorpe (Swampscott, Mass.) was next for the Saints with a 130. He posted scores of 44 followed by an 86.
Senior Tyler Russ (Exeter, N.H.) recorded a 149 and sophomore Jack Hanrahan (Thompson, Conn.) posted a 151 to round out the Emmanuel scores.
The Saints return to action on Wednesday, October 12 at the Mitchell College Invitational at Shennecossett Golf Course in Groton, Conn. before wrapping up the season next weekend back in Gorham for the GNAC Championship hosted by Saint Joseph's College (ME) and USM.
