GOLF CARDS A 350 AT WESTFIELD STATE INVITATIONAL
WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Emmanuel College golf team combined to shoot a 350 on Tuesday afternoon at the Westfield State Invitational at Tekoa Country Club. The Saints placed 11th overall in the 14 team field as Babson College cruised to the overall team win with a 292 behind a medalist round of 72 from Martin Jensen.

The Saints placed 11th overall in the 14 team field as Babson College cruised to the overall team win with a 292 behind a medalist round of 72 from Martin Jensen.
EC sophomore Anthony Springthorpe (Swampscott, Mass.) paced the Saints with a team-low of 84, shooting a 43 on the front side followed by a 41 on the back. Springthorpe was tied for 27th overall in the 70 player field.
Rookie Taylor Kieselback (Simsbury, Conn.) was next in the club house with an 87 followed by fellow freshman Jack Scavone (Auburn, Mass.) who shot an 89.
Senior co-captain Tyler Russ (Exeter, N.H.) carded a 90 to round out the top four scores while junior Lucas Curtin (Pattersonville, N.Y.) shot an even 100 as the final Emmanuel golfer on the course.
The Saints return to action on Tuesday, October 4 for their second home match of the season at the William J. Devine Golf Course at Franklin Park in a quad match featuring Mitchell College, Suffolk University and Dean College. The first tee time is set for 12:00 PM.
