Cross Country Runs Franklin Park in 55th Annual Codfish Bowl
BOSTON – Emmanuel Cross Country made their second trip to Franklin Park this afternoon, competing in the 55th annual Codfish Bowl, hosted by the USA Track & Field New England, as women’s programs competed in a 5k while men’s programs ran in an 8k.

The Codfish Bowl combines several groups of racers, including club teams, individual runners, and NCAA competitors.
Among NCAA competitors, Saints senior Emma Krantz (Manchester, N.H.) had the top finish for Emmanuel, running her 5k in 21:48, good for 42nd place. First-years Heidi Li (Braintree, Mass.) and Kendall Newton (Gloucester, Mass.) were next over the line for the Saints, finishing 53rd and 57th, respectively, with times of 23:29 and 24:39.
On the men's side and only against NCAA competitors, first-year Nick Ware (Rehoboth, Mass.) placed 49th with an 8k time of 30:53. Sophomores Andrew Kubaska (Cumberland, R.I.) and Monet Elias (Westwood, Mass.) finished in times of 31:53 and 32:37 for finishes of 54th and 56th, respectively.
As a team, the Saints women's team finished in 11th place, as Tufts took the team victory in the 5k. The men's team placed 10th as a program, as Tufts also claimed the men's event team win.
The Saints finish off the month of September with a trip to Keene State next Saturday, Sept. 30, for the Keene State Invitational. Races for the day start at 11:00 a.m.
