Cross Country Begins Season at Suffolk Short Course Classic

Saints senior Emma Krantz (Manchester, N.H.) was the top performer for the EC women, running the 3k in a time of 13:23.2. First-year Heidi Li (Braintree, Mass.) opened her collegiate career with an 82nd place finish and a time of 14:41.6.
In the men's race, first-year Nick Ware (Rehoboth, Mass.) led all Emmanuel runners with a time of 20:14.3 in the 5k. Fellow first-year Andrew Kubaska (Cumberland, R.I.) was close behind, running his 5k in 21:10.3.
In the team competitions, the Saints women placed 12th while the men's program came in 13th. The University of Connecticut was the overall team winner in the women's race, collecting 24 points in the win. For the men, Northeastern claimed victory with 28 points with all five Huskies runners placing inside the top-10.
The Saints cross country teams are back to running on Sept. 16, competing in the UMass Dartmouth Invitational, starting at 11:15 a.m.
