VOLLEYBALL TEAM TO HOST SAINT JOSEPH'S IN GNAC QUARTERFINALS

The Emmanuel College Women's Volleyball Team has earned the \#3 seed in the upcoming Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. The Saints, who are making the program's 13th-straight GNAC Tournament appearance, finished the regular season at 20-14, marking their first 20-win season since 2006. Emmanuel will host the 6th-seeded Monks of Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in the GNAC Quarterfinals this Tuesday, November 1st, at 7:00 PM.
The Monks are making their 2nd appearance in the GNAC Tournament. Saint Joseph's earned their highest post-season seeding, as the Monks were seeded 8th last year. Tuesday night's quarterfinal match-up will be a rematch of the regular season game between these two teams, which occurred back on October 8th and featured the Saints capturing a 3-0 win.
The 2010 GNAC Runner-up, Emerson College, has secured a first place seeding in the tournament, after achieving an undefeated 13-0 conference record and an overall record of 22-7. The Lions had a critical victory over rival \#2 Rivier to lead them into the top playoff seeding.
Rivier has earned a second place regular season finish with a conference record of 12-1, and an overall record of 19-13. Simmons College, which achieved a fourth place regular season finish with a conference record of 9-4 and an overall record of 19-9 will also host a quaterfinal match on Tuesday night.
Rounding out the lower portion of the bracket are: \#5 Norwich (8-5, 16-9), \#6 St. Joseph's Maine (8-5, 19-11), \#7 Lasell (8-5, 16-8), and \#8 Johnson & Wales (8-5, 10-24).
