Huynh Doubles Up as GNAC Rookie, Setter of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. – Saints first-year Kason Huynh (Mission Viejo, Calif.) turned in another strong week for Emmanuel Women’s Volleyball and has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Setter of the Week and Rookie of the Week, in Week 5 of the conference’s report.
WINTHROP, Mass. – Saints first-year Kason Huynh (Mission Viejo, Calif.) turned in another strong week for Emmanuel Women's Volleyball and has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Setter of the Week and Rookie of the Week, in Week 5 of the conference's report.
For Huynh, she's claimed Rookie of the Week honors in consecutive weeks while the Setter of the Week award is her first of the season.
The Saints finished the past week 2-1 over three matches, improving to 9-4 (4-1 GNAC) overall. On Sept. 27 at New England College, Huynh recorded a triple-double with 11 kills, 14 digs, and 23 assists in a 3-2 win over the Pilgrims. The rookie setter went on to record a career-high 33 assists later in the week in a 3-1 victory over Elms.
Emmanuel returns to play on Oct. 4, welcoming Rivier to the Jean Yawkey Center at 7:00 p.m., as the GNAC schedule rolls on.
