THE LEAD – The Emmanuel Saints women's volleyball team wrapped up their season with a straight-sets win over Albertus Magnus, followed by a straight-sets loss to Colby-Sawyer, in Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference tri-match between Emmanuel, Albertus Magnus, and Colby-Sawyer.

Prior to the match, the Saints volleyball program celebrated Senior Day, honoring the careers of Caitlin Tannian (Reading, Mass.) and Anna Caristi (North Attleboro, Mass.).

MATCH ONE: Emmanuel 3 – Albertus Magnus 0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-20)

• In the opening set, the Saints built a strong lead with 10 of the first 13 points to grab a 10-3 edge. The Falcons showed no quit despite the deficit, staging a comeback to tie the set at 18-18. An Emmanuel timeout steadied the Saints, as they scored five consecutive points to lead 23-18. The Saints finished things off with a solo block by sophomore Seana Phillips (Middleboro, Mass.), winning the set 25-22.
• The second set started as a back-and-forth battle, but a 5-0 scoring run for the Saints helped to gain control of the set. Albertus drew to as close as three, but seven straight Saints points opened a considerable lead as Emmanuel went on to the 25-14 set victory.
• In the third set, the Saints took charge early with the help of an 8-1 run. That scoring run was quickly erased by the Falcons, who scored five straight, pulling within one point at 13-12. Albertus Magnus failed to overtake Emmanuel for the rest of the set, pulling to within one point of the lead on numerous occasions. The Saints finished things off with a kill by Caristi to win the set 25-20.
• Caristi led all players with 14 kills while hitting .320 from the floor. First-year Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.) finished with a career-high five service aces. Junior Tatiana Correia (Peabody, Mass.) had a match-best 18 digs.
• Junior Diana Kalman (East Haven, Conn.) had seven kills for the Falcons while first-years Elayna Beutel (Prospect, Conn.) and Joismar Aviles (Hatillo, Puerto Rico) had five kills each. Aviles added a team-high 13 digs.

MATCH TWO: Colby-Sawyer 3 – Emmanuel 0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-21)

• In the opening set, the Chargers claimed seven of the first nine points of the set to lead 7-2. Colby-Sawyer grew that led as the set went on, thanks to an 8-0 run that had the Chargers leading by a dozen. Colby-Sawyer finished things off with a kill by junior Ameesah Cotten (Newburgh, N.Y.), winning the set 25-13.
• The Chargers started fast, claiming the first five points of the second set. Colby-Sawyer built on their lead with the help of a 9-1 run in the middle of the set to lead 20-7. Emmanuel could only get as close as 10 points as Chargers junior Mia Harmon (Concord, N.H.) finished the set with a kill and a 25-12 win.
• The third set began as a close battle with the Chargers taking the lead 8-4 after four straight points. The set played out within a tight margin with the Saints eventually grabbing a 19-18 edge. But the Chargers bounced back to reclaim the lead and finished the match off with a kill by first-year Shaelyn Thornton (Scarborough, Maine) while claiming the third set 25-21.
• Senior Sam Mohammed (Killingworth, Conn.) finished with a team-high eight kills. Thornton had six kills in the win while Harmon and senior Riley Codman (Dublin, N.H.) have five kills each.
• The senior duo of Tannian and Caristi finished off their careers with 10 kills and five kills, respectively. Tannian also added a match-high 20 digs for the double-double. Junior Kerry Shea (Tewksbury, Mass.) added seven kills in the loss.

MATCH THREE: Colby-Sawyer 3 – Albertus Magnus 0 (25-12, 25-9, 25-15)

• In the opening set, the sides were even until a Chargers 12-3 run opened up a wide margin for Colby-Sawyer and a 21-10 lead. The Chargers went on to win the final four points of the set, including a kill by Mohammed, winning by a 25-12 score.
• Another large scoring run for Colby-Sawyer propelled them forward in set two. After splitting the first six points of the set, the Chargers scored 11 consecutive points, on their way to a 25-9 set win.
• The third set was another battle early for the Falcons and Chargers, but Colby-Sawyer struck again with a large scoring run, this time of 12-2, taking command of the set at 18-8. The final three points of the set went to Colby-Sawyer, including a match-clinching ace by Mohammad, in the 25-15 set win.
• Mohammed led the Chargers with 10 kills. Harmon, Codman, and Cotten added five kills apiece. Cotten hit a match-best .667 from the floor in the victory. Setter Anna Allen (Los Angeles, Calif.) added 27 assists, 12 digs, and four service aces.
• For the Falcons, Beutel led the team with eight kills, including an attack percentage of .400. Kalman came through with four kills in the loss.
