Saints Drop Non-Conference Match to Amherst in Straight Sets
BOSTON - The Emmanuel Saints women’s volleyball fell to Amherst College on Tuesday night, losing in straight sets to the Mammoths in non-conference play.

THE LEAD – The Emmanuel Saints women's volleyball fell to Amherst College on Tuesday night, losing in straight sets to the Mammoths in non-conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening set, the Mammoths built a lead early on, scoring eight of the first 10 points of the set. Amherst helped their lead later with a 7-0 run in the middle of the set. The Mammoths claimed the final three points of set one to win 25-12.
- In set two, the Saints hung in with the Mammoths before Amherst rattled off 12 straight points in the middle of the set to charge ahead and eventually claim a 25-11.
- In the final set, Emmanuel again put up a battle against Amherst, fighting to an 18-18 tie, late in the set. But the final seven points went to the Mammoths, as they took the third set 25-18 for the straight sets win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Mammoths first-year Anaya Thomas (Montgomery, Ala.) finished with a match-high 10 kills while hitting .320 from the floor.
- Senior Jamie Dailey (Newport Beach, Calif.) filled the stat sheet with nine kills, eight digs, and four service aces.
- Saints sophomore Sasha Hyacinthe (Stoughton, Mass.) finished with a team-best four kills.
- Junior Rachel Coleman (Peabody, Mass.) led the Saints with 14 kills while junior Tatiana Correia (Peabody, Mass.) added a match-high 17 digs.
UP NEXT
- The Saints are on a quick turnaround, heading back to GNAC play tomorrow as they welcome Rivier University to Yosinoff Court for a 7:00 p.m. match.
- The Mammoths return to NESCAC action on Friday, traveling to No. 24 Tufts University for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
