WESTON, Mass. - The Saints earned their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference win of the season over Anna Maria College, as they split a pair of GNAC matches on Saturday against Regis and the AMCATS.

THE LEAD – The Saints earned their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference win of the season over Anna Maria College, as they split a pair of GNAC matches on Saturday against Regis and the AMCATS.
MATCH ONE: Regis 3 – Emmanuel 0 (25-18, 25-10, 25-9)
The opening set was evenly matched between the Saints and Pride, as both sides battled to a 13-13 tie in the middle of the set. Regis struck to take control of the first set, going on a 10-2 scoring run to lead 23-15. The Pride finished out the opening set, 25-18, on a kill from Ahnasia McKinney.
Regis was out in front quickly in the second set and finished off the middle set by scoring the final five points, taking the set 25-10.
Much of the same in the third set for the Pride, as they rattled off 13 straight points in the middle of the set, on their way to a 25-9 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS (Match 1)
- Junior Kerry Shea (Tewksbury, Mass.) and sophomore Sasha Hyacinthe (Stoughton, Mass.) both finished with a team-high four kills.
- Senior Anna Caristi (North Attleboro, Mass.) and sophomore Seana Phillips (Middleboro, Mass.) each had three kills.
- Regis's Valerie Whalen led the way for the Pride, finishing with nine kills.
MATCH TWO: Emmanuel 3 – Anna Maria 0 (25-13, 25-17, 25-6)
In the opening set for match two, the Saints went on runs of 7-0 and 9-0 in their 25-13 first set win over the AMCATS.
Another set of scoring runs for Emmanuel helped them to the second set win. In the early going, an 8-0 run gave them the early edge while a five-point streak late in the set helped Emmanuel to a 25-17 win.
In the final set, the Saints scored a season-best 14 consecutive points and 18 of the last 19 points of the match, as Emmanuel ran away with the 25-6 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS (Match 2)
- Senior Caitlin Tannian (Reading, Mass.) finished with a career-high nine kills, hitting .421 from the floor.
- Sophomore Brigid Moriarty (Westfield, Mass.) had a double-double of 17 assists and 10 service aces.
- The Saints hit a season-high .276 in the win, including a .636 in the third set.
