SAINTS CLOSE OUT HOME SEASON WITH A LOSS, 3-0
The Emmanuel College Saints closed out their regular season home schedule with a loss to the Keene State Owls, led by sophomore setter Bailey Wilson and senior middle hitter Niamh Dodd, on Wednesday, October 24th in a non-conference matchup on the Andy Yosinoff Court.

THE LEAD: The Emmanuel College Saints closed out their regular season home schedule with a loss to the Keene State Owls, led by sophomore setter Bailey Wilson and senior middle hitter Niamh Dodd, on Wednesday, October 24th in a non-conference matchup on the Andy Yosinoff Court.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints started the first set with a quick 3-0 run, thanks to back to back kills by senior Mary Shelow (Miami, Fla.) and Marissa Cataldo (Melrose, Mass.), before the Owls came back quickly to take control of the set, with kills from Niamh Dodd (Mahopac, N.Y.) and Kelly Hunt (Milford, Conn.), 25-13.
- Both teams remained neck and neck through 10-10 before Keene State was able to pull away with a 17-6 run in the middle of the frame, closing out the second set 25-16.
- EC was able to take the lead through much of the set, thanks to kills from Cataldo and great serving by Alexandra Mezzo (Naugatuck, Conn.), but the Owls came charging back after being down 16-22 to take the final set, with late match kills by Bailey Wilson (Moorpark, Calif.) and Elizabeth Johnson (Rockledge, Fla.), 25-23.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Dodd led both teams with eight kills on the evening for the Owls, while Shelow led the way for the Saints with five of her own.
- Senior setter Carly Church recorded 13 assists on the night, while Wilson recorded 21 for the Owls.
- Keene State was able to record a .254 kill percentage, while the Saints were only able to produce at a .015 rate.
- Megan Palmer (East Islip, N.Y.) led the defense of the Owls with nine digs, while senior libero Katharine Journeay of the Saints recorded eight.
