SHELOW PROPELS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL OVER ANNA MARIA, 3-0
PAXTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College volleyball team cruised over host Anna Maria College Saturday morning in a sweep of three sets with a score of 3-0. Anna Maria senior, Rebecca Foti (Bedford, N.H.). notched her 1,000th career kill in the defeat.

How It Happened:
-The Saints took set one by a final score of 25-18 to begin the morning.
-The AMCATS scored the first point of the game with a kill by Rebecca Foti from teammate Kerri Earle (Bethel, Conn.).
-The Saints took their largest lead of the first set, 20-11 with a kill from Samantha Demarco (Rockdale, Mass.).
-Emmanuel kept the lead for the rest of the set.
- The Saints took the second set of the day with a final score of 25-19.
-Foti scored her 1,000th kill in the second set with an assist from Earle.
-The last set of the morning was a final score of 25-17.
-The Saints scored the first point of the set with a block from Grace Nieder (Oconomowoc, Wisc.).
-The AMCATS were back in the game from being down five points following a kill from Foti, 11-10.
-That's as close as they would come as the AMCATS still tread behind the Saints for the remainder of the set, and ultimately fell 27-17.
Inside the Numbers:
-Mary Shelow (Miami, Fla.) of Emmanuel led all players with 20 kills on the day.
-Carly Church (Hingganum, Conn.) of the visiting Saints had the most assists of the game with 28.
-Carly Church and Casey Sheehan (Medway, Mass.) of Emmanuel tied Carolina Gracia of Anna Maria for most digs in the match with 15.

The AMCATS host Johnson and Wales (R.I.) on Wednesday, Sept. 20th for a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) contest at 7:00 p.m. while the Saints are back on Tuesday, Sept. 19 when they play host to UMass Dartmouth at 7:00 p.m.
