WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DROPS TWO AT USM TRI-MATCH
GORHAM, Maine – The Emmanuel College women’s volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches Saturday afternoon at Hill Gymnasium on the University of Southern Maine campus. The Saints fell to Eastern Connecticut State University, 3-2, before dropping the second match to USM, 3-1. Emmanuel falls to 2-9 on the year while the wins bump both the ECSU Warriors and USM Huskies to 6-7 on the year.

GORHAM, Maine – The Emmanuel College women's volleyball team dropped a pair of non-conference matches Saturday afternoon at Hill Gymnasium on the University of Southern Maine campus. The Saints fell to Eastern Connecticut State University, 3-2, before dropping the second match to USM, 3-1. Emmanuel falls to 2-9 on the year while the wins bump both the ECSU Warriors and USM Huskies to 6-7 on the year.
EC vs. USM
The Saints opened strong, posting a 25-11 win in the opening set behind a .375 team attacking percentage but the Huskies rebounded to take the next three sets 28-26, 25-16, 25-23 to come back for the 3-1 win.
EC junior outside hitter Cassie Chruscielski (Duluth, Minn.) led the Saints with 12 kills to go along with nine digs and four service aces. Freshman outside hitter Mary Shelow (Miami, Fla.) played well with eight kills and five total blocks. Freshman Carly Church (Higganum, Conn.) tallied a team-best 19 assists while fellow rookie libero Casey Sheehan (Medway, Mass.) posted a team-high 15 digs. Junior Sarah Schemerhorn (Los Angeles, Calif.) recorded a double-double with 14 assists and 12 digs.
Sophomore outside hitter Jess Williamson (Goffstown, N.H.) led the Huskies with a match-high 19 kills while also recording 15 digs. Junior setter Megan Nilson (Granby, Conn.) ran the offensive show with a match-best 29 assists to go along with 10 digs. Senior defensive specialist Demi Rudder (Clifton, Co.) added a match-high 17 digs.
