WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL SUFFERS 3-0 SETBACK TO KEENE
KEENE, N.H. – The Keene State College women's volleyball team downed Emmanuel College, 3-0 (25-21, 28-26, 25-12), Tuesday evening at Spaulding Gymnasium in non-conference action. With the victory the Owls, who are ranked No. 15 in the New England Women's Volleyball Association Division III Volleyball poll, improve to 6-3 on the year while the loss drops the Saints to 2-5.

With the victory the Owls, who are ranked No. 15 in the New England Women's Volleyball Association Division III Volleyball poll, improve to 6-3 on the year while the loss drops the Saints to 2-5.
KSC was led by a trio of outstanding offensive performances from seniors Angela Silveri, Christine Hadfield and sophomore Racel Lamica. Lamica notched a team high 12 kills on 25 swings (.400) while Silveri finished with 10 kills, and Hadfield ended with nine kills and zero errors on 19 swings (.474).
Trailing 23-17 in the second set, the Owls rattled off four-staight points sparked by two kills by Taylor Bright to come within 23-21, forcing an Emmanuel timeout. Trailing 26-25, Hadfield hammered down a kill and the KSC defense came up in the clutch to force two attack errors by the Saints to claim the second set.
Defensively, the Owls were led by Silveri, Riley Bunker and Alexis Michal who each finished in double-digit digs. Junior setter Brooke Bell ran the offense with 24 assists.
Emmanuel junior outside hitter Mary Shelow led the way with eight kills, while Sarah Schemerhorn and Carly Church each posted double-digit assists of 16 and 12, respectively. Casey Sheehan and Cassie Chruscielski combined for 23 digs.
Both teams return to the court Thursday at 7:00 pm with the Owls playing at Johnson & Wales and Emmanuel hosting Babson.
