VOLLEYBALL TEAM BLANKS JWU, 3-0
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Emmanuel Saints put together a three-set win over the host Johnson & Wales University Wildcats in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Volleyball action played at Harborside Recreation Center on Wednesday evening. The 3-0 win (19-25, 22-25, 22-25) win for the Saints improved Emmanuel’s record to 8-14 overall and 3-2 in the league. With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 9-15 overall and 4-3 in the GNAC.

The 3-0 win (19-25, 22-25, 22-25) win for the Saints improved Emmanuel's record to 8-14 overall and 3-2 in the league. With the loss Johnson & Wales is now 9-15 overall and 4-3 in the GNAC.
Emmanuel freshman Danielle Rose (Wilkes Barre, Pa.) tallied a match-high 10 kills with four digs, while freshman Shannon Dudley (Arroyo Grande, Calif.) notched 18 set assists and six digs for the Saints. Senior Yun-Ting Lee (Keelung, Taiwan) tallied 20 digs in the victory.
Johnson & Wales was paced by sophomore Carey Kirk (Purcellville, Va.) with eight kills and three blocks while sophomore Alyssa Drapeau (Biddeford, Maine) notched a double-double with 14 set assists and 13 digs for the Wildcats. Junior Giselle Cram-Ortiz (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico) recorded 17 digs in the loss.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, October 13th when they travel to Rhode Island College for the Rhody Four Tournament. JWU will take on Roger Williams at 11:00 a.m. Emmanuel will play in a tri-match on Saturday at Lasell College. The Saints will take on the host Lasers at 10:00 AM and Gordon College at noon.
