SOFTBALL TEAM WRAPS SEASON WITH 10-2 WIN OVER FALCONS

West Haven, CT - The Emmanuel Saints rebounded from a 5-2 loss in the early game to take a 10-2 victory over Albertus Magnus College in the nightcap of Monday's GNAC softball double-header. The Saints were able to wrap up the season on a positive note, with an 8-run win over the host Falcons.
Senior captains Stephanie Rege (Chicopee, MA), Jen Walsh (West Springfield, MA), and Nicole Ferraro (Lakeville, MA) propelled the Saints to their final win of the season. Together, the seniors accounted for 8 of Emmanuel's 14 hits in the game. Walsh was perfect from the plate, hitting 3 for 3 on the day with two runs batted in. Rege went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs. Ferraro hit two singles in her three at-bats.
Sophomore outfielder Samantha Luther (Carlisle, MA) also had a big day for the Saints, batting two for four with a stolen base. Sophomore Kiah Eilenfeldt (Davis, CA) ripped a double that scored two runs in the top of the third for the Saints. Collectively, the Saints hit just over .500 for the game with 14 hits in 27 at-bats.
Rege picked up the win for Emmanuel. She went the distance in the circle, striking out 4 of the 24 batters she faced. Rege gave up just 5 hits in her second win this season.
Emmanuel wrapped up the season with an overall record of 3-32-1 and a 3-22-1 mark in Great Northeast Athletic Conference play.
