GATORS TOP SAINTS IN GNAC SOFTBALL ACTION

Boston, MA - The Emmanuel Softball Team fell to conference foe, Pine Manor College, on Monday afternoon. The Gators topped the Saints in both games, 21-3 and 12-1. Senior captain Stephanie Rege (Chicopee, MA) went three for four from the plate on the day. She was two for two in the opening game with two runs-batted-in. She also singled in game two for the Saints. Rege was versatile all day, pitching game one, then catching and playing first-base in the nightcap.
Other highlights for the Saints included two hits by freshman Sarah Palmer-Thompson (Dennis, MA), who caught game one for Rege. Senior captains Jen Walsh (West Springfield, MA) and Nicole Ferraro (Lakeville, MA) also stepped up and recorded hits for the Saints in the opening contest.
Pine Manor's freshman Kelly Pirzl (Dalton, MA) pitched a four-hitter in game two. Emmanuel's four hits came by way of Rege, Walsh, sophomore centerfielder Samantha Luther (Carlisle, MA), and sophomore pitcher Kiah Eilenfeldt (Davis, CA). Freshman Christina Lacoste (Belchertown, MA) was on the mound for Emmanuel in the second game. She faced 27 Gator batters and held PMC to 8 hits on the night.
Emmanuel is now 0-14 and 0-4 in conference play. The Saints will travel to Nashua, NH on Thursday night (4/3) to take on the Raiders of Rivier College in a 6pm double-header. Emmanuel is on the road this weekend, playing at Daniel Webster College on Saturday and Lasell College on Sunday.
