Bio

Coach McDonald joined the Saints Softball staff before the start of the 2020 campaign for her first coaching job at the collegiate level, working mainly with the pitching staff.

She was a member of the 2021 & 2022 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Coaching Staff of the Year. In 2021, the program captured its first GNAC Championship and NCAA tournament berth and McDonald worked directly with the 2021 GNAC Pitcher of the Year and a 2022 GNAC First Team All-Conference pitching honoree.

McDonald played her collegiate ball at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. where she graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular Biology.  She was standout on the field for the Cardinals, captaining the team as both a junior and senior. The New York native earned NESCAC & NFCA All-Scholastic honors as well as NESCAC All-Conference accolades and the Jones Awards (MVP) during her time with Wesleyan while serving on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Over her four seasons, McDonald collected over 100 career hits while posting a .312 career batting average. She added 48 RBI to go along with 46 runs scored while drawing 32 walks. The southpaw was also a reliable pitcher for Wesleyan, collecting 30 wins over her career while striking out 346 batters over 415 innings pitched. She finished her career with a 2.82 ERA and 33 complete games.

McDonald works full-time for Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) as a Molecular Biology Research Technician and resides in Cambridge, Mass.
