Softball Receives Easton/NFCA Team Academic, All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced last week that Emmanuel Saints Softball is one of 125 softball programs in NCAA Division III to receive their College Team Academic Award, given to programs around the country whose team GPA exceeds 3.00 in the 2022-23 academic year.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) announced last week that Emmanuel Saints Softball is one of 125 softball programs in NCAA Division III to receive their College Team Academic Award, given to programs around the country whose team GPA exceeds 3.00 in the 2022-23 academic year.
The Saints ranked 118th in Division III as a team, holding a team GPA of 3.244 for the 2022-23 year. Emmanuel is one of five Great Northeast Athletic Conference members to receive an NFCA Team Academic Award with Johnson & Wales, Regis, Elms, and Simmons, each claiming the honors.
The NFCA recognized 492 programs in NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and Junior Colleges with their Team Academic Award. Georgia State University (DI), Post University (DII), and Middlebury College (DIII), topped the lists among their respective divisions. Spring Arbor University and Trinity Valley Community College led the NAIA and junior college team GPAs, respectively.
Along with the team honors, the Easton/NFCA recognized nearly 8,300 student-athletes individually as All-American Scholar-Athletes.
Five Saints were recognized as an All-American Scholar-Athlete, including Emma Crisafulli (Loudonville, N.Y.), Tianna Dawe (Peabody, Mass.), Sammy Hayes (Braintree, Mass.), Rebecca Markie (West Hartford, Conn.), and Brenna Whittaker (Cranston, R.I.).
To be recognized on this list, student-athletes must finish the academic year with a 3.50 GPA or higher.
