KILCOYNE NAMED GNAC PITCHER OF THE WEEK FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WEEK
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior pitcher Jill Kilcoyne (Worcester, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks the fifth time during Kilcoyne's career that she's been named GNAC Pitcher of the Week and the second week in a row she’s earned the honor.
BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior pitcher Jill Kilcoyne (Worcester, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. This marks the fifth time during Kilcoyne's career that she's been named GNAC Pitcher of the Week and the second week in a row she's earned the honor.
The senior continued her dominance in the circle for the Saints posting a pair of complete-game shutouts last week with wins over Norwich and Anna Maria. Kilcoyne collected 38 strikeouts over 25 innings of work, posting a 1.40 ERA while holding visiting hitters to a .187 batting average. The ace struck out at least nine hitters in all three of her starts including an 11-K performance against the AMCats in an 8-0 two-hitter.
The Worcester, Mass. native has been a force for Emmanuel throughout the spring, posting an 8-1 record in conference play. On the year, Kilcoyne has struck out 110 batters over 94 innings of work to average 8.13 K's per game which currently ranks second in the GNAC.
The Saints are currently 14-14 on the year while boasting an 11-5 mark in GNAC play. The squad returns to action on Wednesday, April 26 for another GNAC twinbill when they play host to University of Saint Joseph (CT) at Roberto Clemente Field at 6:30 PM.
