DAVIS EARNS THIRD GNAC SOFTBALL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK HONOR
Emmanuel College freshman Catherine Davis has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Softball Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. Davis’ third GNAC Rookie of the Week honor came on April 15th, after the freshman shortstop and Emmanuel’s lead-off hitter continued her solid rookie campaign, registering a .636 batting average on the week to help Emmanuel post a 4-2 record.

Davis' third GNAC Rookie of the Week honor came on April 15th, after the freshman shortstop and Emmanuel's lead-off hitter continued her solid rookie campaign, registering a .636 batting average on the week to help Emmanuel post a 4-2 record.
Davis, a native of Wethersfield, Connecticut, hit safely in all six games last week, including five multi-hit outings. The rookie also collected seven RBI to go along with five stolen bases and two walks for the Saints. Davis slugged .818 on the week to go along with an impressive .640 on base percentage.
Prior to Monday afternoon's double-header at Emerson College, Davis had an impressive 22-game hitting streak going. She leads the team in almost every single offensive category in one of the greatest rookie campaigns in the program's history. Davis is currently leading the Saints with a .455 bating average, a .504 on-base-percentage and a .696 slugging percentage. Davis has recorded a team-best 16 stolen bases so far this season. On defense, she has a team-high 74 assists from her shortstop position, to go along with 60 putouts and 9 errors for a .937 fielding percentage.
This is the fourth time Davis has been honored by the GNAC this season, as she was named the GNAC Rookie of the Week two other times (3/11/13 and 4/1/13) and named to the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll on 3/18/13.
Davis and the Saints will return to action on Wednesday night, when they host the Leopards of Wentworth Institute of Technology in a non-conference double-header, slated to begin at 6:30 PM on Roberto Clement Field.
