WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM EARNS ECAC TOURNAMENT BID

The Emmanuel College Women's Soccer Team has earned a bid in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) post-season tournament. The Saints are one of eight teams from the New England region selected to compete for the ECAC Championship. The tournament is an eight-team field with quarterfinal, semifinal and championship rounds. Emmanuel is seeded sixth and will take on the third-seeded Falcons of Fitchburg State College on Wednesday night (11/12) at 6pm. The game will be played at Elliot Field on the campus on Fitchburg State College.
In the first round contests on Wednesday, top-seeded Keene State College (15-7) will host Lasell College (10-5-2) at 6pm, while the second seed, Brandeis University (10-7-2), will face the seven seed, Saint Joseph College of Connecticut (14-3-3) at 4pm at Brandeis. No. 3 Fitchburg State College (13-6) plays Emmanuel (13-8) at 6pm at FSC and 4th-seeded University of New England (10-5) will take on 5th-seeded Curry College (11-5-2) at 6:30pm at Curry.
The first-round winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday, November 15 hosted by the highest remaining seeds. The winner of Keene State/Lasell will face the winner of University of New England/Curry in one semifinal, and the winner of Brandeis/Saint Joseph (CT) will play the winner of Fitchburg State/Emmanuel in the other semifinal. The semifinal winners will meet Sunday (11/16) for the championship.
