Emmanuel College's senior tri-captain Amber Di Nucci is this week's "Student-Athlete of the Week." Di Nucci was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference's Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending on October 23rd. This is Di Nucci's 6th time receiving this honor over her four-year career with the Saints. Her most recent honor came after she led the Saints to a 2-1 week, scoring goals in each of Emmanuel's three games played.
Di Nucci scored on October 21st in the Saints' 2-0 win over Curry, marking her 6th goal of the season and the 50th of her stellar collegiate career. Di Nucci now has 51 total goals and is Emmanuel's 2nd all-time leading scorer. She also ranks among the past and present GNAC leaders for career assists and holds Emmanuel program records for assists in a single season (with 17 in 2009) and assists in a career.
Over her career at Emmanuel, Di Nucci has led her teams to four GNAC Tournaments and to the finals in each of the past three years. This season, Di Nucci and the Women's Soccer Team will enter the GNAC Tournament as the 8th seed, but with the potential for some upset victories en route to a GNAC title. The Saints will play in the GNAC Quarterfinals versus Suffolk University this Sunday, October 31st, at 5:30pm at Dilboy Stadium in Somerville, Mass.
