D'OTTAVIO NAMED GNAC WOMEN'S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK AGAIN

BOSTON, MASS. - Emmanuel College women's soccer player Jessica D'Ottavio (Pawling, N.Y.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Goalkeeper of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Monday evening. This marks the second time this season that the junior has been tabbed the league's top keeper as she was also awarded the honor during the week of September 5-11.
In two games last week, D'Ottavio posted a total of 28 saves including a career-high 20-save outing against Simmons College on Friday, October 7. The junior would also play well in a 2-1 victory over Saint Joseph's (ME) earlier in the week, making eight saves in the win to help contribute towards her .903 save percentage on the week.
During the 2011 season, D'Ottavio has been a backbone for the Saints defensive unit, posting a .848 save percentage which currently ranks second in the GNAC. She has racked up a total of 106 saves, also good for second best in the conference while posting a 1.38 goals against average. She currently holds an overall record of 8-5-1 and has recorded a pair of shutout wins.
Over her Emmanuel career, D'Ottavio has been a solid staple in goal for the Saints the past three years by posting a combined 29-19-2 mark between the pipes. The junior has totaled 304 saves while recording 11 shutouts including seven during the 2009 season. She currently boasts a career goals against average of 1.58 to go along with a .798 save percentage.
The Saints are currently in the GNAC playoff hunt with an 8-5-1 overall record and a 4-5-1 mark in conference play. They'll return to the pitch tomorrow night when they host Wheaton College who is ranked \#18 in the nation in this week's D3Socccer.com Coaches Poll. Game time is slated for 7:00 p.m. at Roberto Clemente Field.
