No. 2 Saints to Host No. 3 Lasell in GNAC Women’s Soccer Semifinals
BOSTON – The Emmanuel College women’s soccer team (17-2, 14-1 GNAC) advanced to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals with ease after an impressive 6-0 win over Rivier University on Saturday. With the victory, the Saints extended their win streak to seven games. This is the first time the Saints have made their way into the Semifinals since 2019.

With the victory, the Saints extended their win streak to seven games. This is the first time the Saints have made their way into the Semifinals since 2019.
Emmanuel is set to face Lasell University (12-5-2, 10-3-2 GNAC) at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at Roberto Clemente Field. The Saints are 5-16-2 against Lasell overall and 1-4-1 in the playoffs. The two teams last met on Sept. 26, where the Saints came out on top, 1-0. The lone Emmanuel goal came from first-year forward Ciara Horan (Braintree, Mass.) on a ball from Alexandra Gencarelli (Bradford, R.I.).
Lasell topped the University of St. Joseph (Conn.), 2-1, in the Quarterfinals to advance to the next round. Lasell's first goal was scored by senior midfielder Evelyn DiFiore on a ball from sophomore Camdyn LaMarre. The second goal for the Lasers came from junior midfielder Michelina D'Agostino. In Emmanuel's aforementioned Quarterfinals win over Rivier, sophomore Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.) recorded three goals and one assist. The other three goals came from Horan, Annebel Balogh de Galantha (Grafton, Mass.) and Adeline LeGault (Farmington, Conn.).
Dullaghan leads the way for the Saints and has put up some impressive performances. She has scored 21 goals to go along with eight assists. The forward earned GNAC Player of the Week honors for three straight weeks on Oct.16, Oct. 23, and once again on Oct. 30.
Horan has also been making an impact for the Saints. She has tallied nine goals and eight assists, making starts in all 19 games she has played in. The forward has earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors on Oct. 2, Oct. 16, and Oct. 30. Sophomore midfielder Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.) has also been impressive for Emmanuel. She has netted nine goals to go along with five assists.
DiFiore has been impactful for Lasell. She leads the way for the Lasers with 10 goals and four assists. She earned GNAC Player of the Week honors on Oct. 9 after recording three goals and an assist. D'Agostino has also made her presence known for Lasell with nine goals and seven assists. Graduate Bobbi O'Guin also has six goals and five assists for the Lasers.
Sophomore Gaby Baker (Grafton, Mass.) will likely start in goal for the Saints, having made 18 starts so far. She has recorded 57 total saves and 16 wins, including 10 shutouts, good for the program's single-season shutout record. It is likely first year Lataya Simmons will be Lasell's starting goalie. She has made 14 starts in 16 appearances and carries an 11-2-2 record.
