WINTHROP, Mass. – Saints sophomore Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.) has continued an astounding run of soccer for Emmanuel and has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Player of the Week for a third consecutive week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Dullaghan is the first player in over a decade to be named a GNAC Women's Soccer Player of the Week in three consecutive weeks and is also the first player in that same span to be awarded one of the GNACs weekly awards (Player, Goalie, Rookie) in three straight weeks.
The second-year forward contributed to seven of the Saints 13 goals scored in a two-game stretch this past week. On Oct. 23, Dullaghan scored twice and added an assist in a 7-0 win over Rivier. Five days later, Rivier returned to Clemente Field for the GNAC Quarterfinals, where Dullaghan scored three goals and added one assist in a 6-0 victory.
All-in-all, Dullaghan scored five goals to go with two assists for 12 points in two games. Her performance this week made her the third player in team history to have a playoff hat trick and the second person in program history with a 50-point season.
Over the last three weeks that Dullaghan has earned the Player of the Week honors, she has 13 goals and six assists in only eight matches for the Saints. She's now tied for the GNAC lead in goals (21) and sits atop the conference in points (50).
The No. 2 seeded Emmanuel Saints make their first GNAC Semifinals appearance since 2019 when they welcome the No. 3 seed Lasell Lasers to Clemente Field on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7:00 p.m. for a spot in the GNAC Championship Match on Saturday, Nov. 4.
