Sophomore Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.) opened scoring, prior to the postponement, with a fourth-minute goal off a Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.) assist. This was followed by a goal in the 23rd minute from sophomore Liz McCormick (Cumberland R.I) on the assist from Ciara Horan (Braintree, Mass.). The game would then go on to be suspended five minutes later.
Resuming the game on Sunday resulted in a quiet remaining 16 minutes of the remaining time in first half, where Norwich got off their only shot of the game, saved by Saints goalie Gaby Baker (Grafton, Mass.).
The Saints recorded 16 second-half shots, where they were able to find the back of the net in the 58th minute for junior Kaelyn Briscoe (Walpole, Mass.) third goal of the season. The goal came off a well-placed assist from Dullaghan. Norwich goalie Rebecca Karis (Fayetteville, N.C.) picked up the loss, but split time with senior Kayla Dawson (Brooksville, Fla.). Between the two, 13 saves were recorded.
Looking forward to their next match, Emmanuel will face off against University of Saint Joseph (CT) back at Clemente field, this Wednesday (10/18) at 7:00PM. The Cadets look to get back into the winning column Wednesday, as they travel to New London, CT to play Colby-Sawyer College at 3:30PM.
