PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Junior Madison Sanborn and freshman Sophia Warburton each scored goals for the JWU-Providence women's soccer team in a 2-0 win over Emmanuel (MA) College Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Senior Day and Homecoming Weekend at the Scotts Miracle-Gro Athletic Complex.
Junior Katherine Dufour and freshman Lulani Haslinger registered assists as the Wildcats outshot the Saints 19-4 to remain unbeaten in conference play at 10-0-0 (10-1-3 overall). The visitors left Harborside Campus with their first GNAC loss of the season (10-2-0, 8-1-0 GNAC).
Sanborn's fifth of the season at 36:16 stood as the game-winner. In the second half, Waburton's added her fifth goal in the last three matches to double the JWU lead. She led all student-athletes with five shots.
Juniors Carly McCrumb and Leah Bragaw each recorded one save; McCrumb started the match and earned the win, her seventh of 2023. Saints sophomore Gaby Baker finished with a career-high eight stops.
