Women's Soccer Extends Winning Streak to Nine in 3-0 Win at Nichols

With the loss, Nichols falls to 2-7-1 (0-3 CCC) the year, and the Saints move to 9-1 (7-0 GNAC) on the year.
The Saints opened the scoring in the 3rd minute when first-year Libby Tennant (West Simsbury, Conn.) scored her second goal of the year off a corner kick from senior Lily Tobin (Hanover, Mass.). Later in the first half, the Saints extended their lead to two when sophomore Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.) scored off a rebounded shot from first-year Lauren Miley (Foxboro, Mass.). The Saints would sit on a 2-0 lead at halftime.
The two-goal lead would be extended to three in the 52nd minute when sophomore Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.) scored her fifth goal of the year assisted by Dullaghan. The Saints would continue to hold the shutout for the remainder of the match.
The Bison trailed the Saints by just one shot in the match (16-15), with sophomore Gaby Baker (Grafton, Mass.) stopping all seven shots the Bison put on goal. In net for the Bison, Adie Hughes made seven saves on 10 shots in 74 minutes of play. Senior Madeleine Soudant stopped one shot in her 16 minutes of relief action, recording her first minutes in goal this season, and maintaining her clean sheet of game action dating back to October 2nd 2021.
The Nichols Women's Soccer Team returns to action on Wednesday, October 4th as they hit the road to Plymouth State for a non-conference match with the Panthers. The Saints are back in action on Wednesday with a trip to Saint Joseph's College (ME) and a conference match with the Monks at 7:30 p.m.
