WINTHROP, Mass. – After scoring a pair of goals in two matches for the Saints this past week, Emmanuel first-year Ciara Horan (Braintree, Mass.) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, in the Week 5 GNAC report.
Horan provided the game-winning tally on Sept. 26 in a 1-0 win over Lasell. A 20th-minute goal from the right-wing found the back-post netting, lifting EC over the Lasers, 1-0. The rookie forward added another goal on Sept. 30, scoring in the final minutes in the Saints 4-1 win over New England College.
Horan has scored in four straight games for Emmanuel and is up to four goals and two assists for 10 points this season. The team has won eight straight and sits at 8-1-0 (7-0-0 GNAC) heading into October.
After a non-conference clash on Monday with Nichols, the Saints return to GNAC play on Oct. 4 with a trip to Saint Joseph's College (ME) and a 7:30 p.m. kick.
