BOSTON – Two goals in each half of play for the Saints propelled the Emmanuel Women's Soccer team into the win column over Anna Maria College, 4-0, on Friday night at Roberto Clemente Field.
The Saints offense proved to be too much for the AMCATS, as Emmanuel was quick to get on the scoreboard and was able to maintain its lead. Sophomore Liz McCormick (Cumberland, R.I.) notched her second goal of the season in the 15th minute of play on a cross that found its way into the back of the net.
The next three goals for the Saints came from sophomore Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.). She received a pass and buried it into the back of the net in the 28th minute to put the Saints up 2-0 at the end of the first half. In the second half of play, Dullaghan battled her way through an AMCATS defender to get a left-footed shot off and into the right corner of the net for her second goal of the night. The forward recorded her third goal of the game, good for a hat trick, on a close-range shot off a rebound in the 60th minute.
Sophomore Maya Daryanani (Raynham, Mass.) and first-year Lauren Miley (Foxboro, Mass.) recorded two assists each in Emmanuel's fourth-straight victory.
Sophomore netminder Gaby Baker (Grafton, Mass.) recorded a shutout on the night, advancing to 3-1 on the season so far.
The Saints head on the road to face Nichols College in a non-conference game at 3:00 p.m. on Sept. 18. The AMCATS return to action in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference contest against Saint Joseph (Conn.) at 7:00 p.m. on Sept. 20.
