LeGault Propels Women’s Soccer Past Rivier in 7-0 Win
NASHUA, N.H. - Junior forward Addie LeGault (Farmington, Conn.) scored four goals over the first 23 minutes to propel Emmanuel College past Rivier University, 7-0, Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women’s soccer action at Joanne Merrill Field.

THE LEAD – Junior forward Addie LeGault (Farmington, Conn.) scored four goals over the first 23 minutes to propel Emmanuel College past Rivier University, 7-0, Wednesday night in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) women's soccer action at Joanne Merrill Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- LeGault got the scoring started just 3:29 into the contest with her 10th goal of the year, finishing a ball from first year forward Sarah Dullaghan (Belmont, Mass.) to make it 1-0.
- The duo switched roles on the second goal with LeGault assisting Dullaghan's 12th goal of the campaign to make it a 2-0 contest 8:44 into the half.
- LeGault scored the next three goals to give the visitors a comfortable 5-0 lead, surpassing Dullaghan for the team-lead in goals scored with 13 on the season. The third and fourth goals of the action were both unassisted tallies while the fifth came off a ball from first year back Annebel Balogh de Galantha (Grafton, Mass.) to make it 5-0 just 23:18 into the frame.
- Junior forward Rory Mahoney (Quincy, Mass.) got into the scoring column at the 28:28 marker to make it 6-0, finishing with the help of an assist from first year Maya Daryanani (Bridgewater, Mass.) to account for the first half score.
- EC outshot the Raiders by a 19-1 margin at the break with the only attempt coming from senior forward Sami Blais (Nashua, N.H.).
- The Saints would go on to outshoot Rivier in the second half by a 22-0 difference as sophomore forward Kaelyn Briscoe (Walpole, Mass.) scored her second of the season off a Mahoney assist in the 73rd minute for the 7-0 final score.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- EC outshot the Raiders by a 41-1 margin in the win, attempting all four of the game's corner kicks.
- First year keepers Patricia Kirejczyk (Ansonia, Conn.) and Sandra Griffith (Roland, Ark.) split time in net to earn the shutout with Kirejczyk earning the win to improve to 10-0 on the year.
- The clean sheet was Emmanuel's 10th of the year bring the Saints one shy of the program record of 11 from the 2015 campaign with four games to play.
- Raiders keeper junior Julia Cafferty (Tewksbury, Mass.) suffered the loss making six saves in the first half before being relieved by sophomore Maya Puma (Tyngsborough, Mass.) who was strong in relief, stopping 12 of 13 shots over the final 45 minutes.
- The Saints improve to 20-5 all-time vs. Rivier and have now won 11 in a row dating back to the 2011 season including seven consecutive shutouts against the Raiders.
