WOMEN’S SOCCER WINS SECOND IN A ROW AGAINST DEAN, 5-0
BOSTON, Mass. - Senior captain Mikayla Guthrie (North Andover, Mass.) scored her first two goals of the season in the first half for the Saints, on their way to a 5-0 shutout of the Dean College Bulldogs, Thursday evening in non-conference action at Roberto Clemente Field.

THE LEAD: Senior captain Mikayla Guthrie (North Andover, Mass.) scored her first two goals of the season in the first half for the Saints, on their way to a 5-0 shutout of the Dean College Bulldogs, Thursday evening in non-conference action at Roberto Clemente Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints were able to strike within the first two minutes of play as junior midfielder Natalie Dash (East Hampton, Conn.) scored on an unassisted goal, 1-0.
- Guthrie scored her first goal of the night at the eight minute mark as midfielder Emma Johnson (Ellington, Conn.) set her up with the assist to put the Saints ahead, 2-0.
- Continuing the offensive attack of the Saints, Guthrie struck again to double her goals on the year, assisted by fellow captain Kayla Generis (Wethersfield, Conn.) to make it 3-0.
- Emmanuel closed out the half on a penalty kick by freshman Berlin Rodriguez (Cooper City, Fla.) that was saved by junior goalkeeper Macy Parisee (East Freetown, Mass.), holding the lead for the Saints, 3-0.
- Junior center-back Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.) put the Saints ahead by another goal on a free kick, after the Bulldogs committed a foul ten minutes into the second half to bump the lead to 4-0.
- With a young set of Saints on the field, freshman McKenzie Leahy (No. Chelmsford, Mass.) closed out the game for the Saints with a goal of her own, assisted by Rodriguez to round out the 5-0 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Emmanuel was able to double their assists and shots statistics on the year, totaling three assists and 26 shots on the evening.
- Junior keeper Lexi Gawron (South Hadley, Mass.) recorded the victory on the night to move to 2-1 without recording a save due to no shots on goal, while Parisee fell to 0-3.

- The Saints only have one day off before heading on the road to face Castleton University on Saturday, September 8th at 3:00 PM.
- Dean College will rest for the weekend before heading back on the road to Pine Manor on Monday, September 10th at 4:00 PM.
