WOMEN'S SOCCER EXTENDS WIN-STREAK TO SIX WITH 1-0 WIN OVER SALEM STATE
SALEM, Mass. - Sophomore midfielder Natalie Dash (East Hampton, Conn.) scored in the 37th minute of play to lift visiting Emmanuel College to a 1-0 road victory over Salem State University on Monday evening in non-conference women’s soccer action.

THE LEAD: Sophomore midfielder Natalie Dash (East Hampton, Conn.) scored in the 37th minute of play to lift visiting Emmanuel College to a 1-0 road victory over Salem State University on Monday evening in non-conference women's soccer action.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Salem State was in control early, attempting three shots and three corners in the first 20 minutes of play.
- The Saints first shot did not come until the 28th minute of play by sophomore forward Kaylin Deschenes (Lynn, Mass.).
- Dash gave the visitors the 1-0 lead at the 36:36 marker with her fourth goal of the year, turning and shoot from 27 yards out and finding the upper right hand corner of the net. Senior back Emily David (Uniondale, N.Y.) was credited with the helper on the play.
- After the goal, the Saints defensive unit led by David and sophomore Katherine O'Kane (Hanson, Mass.) kept the Vikings offense at bay and off the scoreboard for the 1-0 win.
- EC sophomore keeper Alexis Gawron (South Hadley, Mass.) picked up the shutout and win, making five saves to improve to 7-4 on the season and notch her third clean sheet.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Salem State outshot the Saints 10-7 on the evening.
- The Vikings three corners early on were there only attempts of the game as the Saints held a 4-3 advantage in corners.
- SSU freshman keeper Rebecca Sabino (Peabody, Mass.) made three stops over 90 minutes and falls to 4-2-1 on the year.
- Emmanuel has now won six consecutive contests, the program's longest winning streak since an eight-game stretch during the 2009 season.
UP NEXT
- EC wraps up the regular season on Wednesday evening, hosting Johnson & Wales University at 7:00 PM in both team's GNAC finale. The winner will earn the No. 2 seed in the 2017 GNAC tournament.
- Salem State is idle until Saturday, October 28 when they head to Springfield, Mass. to take on Westfield State University in their MASCAC finale at 12:00 PM.
