WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS NORWICH TO REMAIN UNBEATEN IN GNAC PLAY
NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Senior captain Ashley Carvalho (Pinellas Park, Fla.) scored her second goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Norwich University women's soccer team fell 4-1 on Saturday night to Emmanuel College.

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Senior captain Ashley Carvalho (Pinellas Park, Fla.) scored her second goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Norwich University women's soccer team fell 4-1 on Saturday night to Emmanuel College.
Emmanuel (4-5-1, 3-0-1 GNAC) scored three times in just over a five-minute span midway through the second half to stretch a 1-0 lead to 4-0 by the 69th minute.
Carvalho scored in the 81st minute with a long distance strike that she tucked underneath the cross bar for her second goal of the season, but it was too little too late as Norwich (1-6-0, 1-4-0 GNAC) suffered its fourth straight loss.
Olivia Collins, Kaylin Deschenes, Natalie Dash and Mikayla Guthrie all scored goals for Emmanuel in the victory. The Saints outshot Norwich 24-8.
Norwich starting goalkeeper freshman Katie Bishop-Manning (New York, N.Y.) made three saves before having to exit the game with an injury. Leandra Flores-Nieves(Colorado Springs, Colo.) came on to make eight saves on 12 shots on goal to fall to 0-2.
Norwich hosts Mount Ida College on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in another GNAC contest. Emmanuel hosts Albertus Magnus on Tuesday Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. in another GNAC match.
