HOW IT HAPPENED
The Saints struck first and second on Deschenes and Guthrie's early goals. The Beacons scoring drought came to an end when Bilyak registered her first collegiate goal to cut the Saints lead in half. In the final half of Wednesday's game, UMB registered 12 shots, while holding the Saints to just six chances. Emmanuel gained the early advantage thanks to a combined 16 shots, which they used to score a pair of goals in the 12th and 18th minutes respectively.
Sophomore goalkeeper Gigi Braga (Medford, Mass.) had another strong performance between the posts, as she tallied 12 stops in the tough loss. Braga posted seven saves in the first half, and added five more stops in the second to close out another strong performance for the new starting goalkeeper.
