CAREY CAPS CAREER WITH GNAC ALL-CONFERENCE ACCOLADE
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Maggie Carey (Swampscott, Mass.) has been named to the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women’s Soccer All-Conference team, it was announced by the conference office Monday morning. Carey earns All-Conference honors for the third consecutive season, earning Second Team honors for the 2016 campaign after posting First Team honors in 2015 and Second Team status in 2014.
BOSTON, Mass. – Senior midfielder Maggie Carey (Swampscott, Mass.) has been named to the 2016 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer All-Conference team, it was announced by the conference office Monday morning. Carey earns All-Conference honors for the third consecutive season, earning Second Team honors for the 2016 campaign after posting First Team honors in 2015 and Second Team status in 2014.
Carey returns to the GNAC Second Team after a stellar senior season that saw career highs in goals (eight), assists (four) and points (20). Three of her goals were game-winners to rank seventh overall in the conference while her eight goals ranked 10th among GNAC players. After the first week of the season, the Saints posted an 8-0-0 record in games where Carey registered at least one point and an 0-7-1 mark in games where she was held off the stat sheet.
While at Emmanuel, the Swampscott, Mass. native played in 87 contests to rank tied for first all-time in Emmanuel program history for games played. She started 67 of the matches and finished her career with 51 points on 20 goals and 11 assists to rank tied for 12th in goals, tied for 15th in assists and 13th all-time in points. Eight of her 20 goals were game-winners to rank fourth all-time in program history.
The Saints finished the 2016 campaign with an overall record of 9-10-1, posting a 6-4-1 record in GNAC play.
