WOMEN'S LACROSSE DROPS AWAY CONTEST AT EMERSON

BOSTON, Mass. - The Emmanuel College women's lacrosse team could not overcome the Emerson College offense and ultimately fell to the Lions, 17-4 on Saturday afternoon in Boston, Mass.
For the Saints, Logan Carr (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) had a pair of goals and an assist, including Emmanuel's first goal of the game. Sophomore Madeline Leahy (Cohasset, Mass.) and senior Megan Clary (Woonsocket, R.I.) tallied two goals at the end of play in the second half to close out the Saints' scoring.
Carr also led the team with two ground balls and three draw controls, while notching one of her goals on a free-position attempt. Leahy added twi draw controls and a ground ball as well.
The Lions got scoring from ten different players including goals off seven different sticks. Mackenzie Johnson '14 (Pasadena, Md.) led the way with five goals, while Chelsea Phillips '14 (Waterford, Conn.) had four. Carmen Trobaugh '13 (Gales Ferry,Conn.) had three goals and an assist. The Lions outshot Emmanuel 29-11, had a 17-6 edge in ground balls, and committed only eight turnovers to 15 for the Saints.
Emmanuel netminder Hillary Dandurant '14 (Merrimack, Mass.) made eight saves for the Saints, while Emerson's Emily Saeger '13 (Center Valley, Pa.) made four saves in the Lion cage.
Emerson (2-6, 2-0 GNAC) will play at Mount ida College on Wednesday at 4:00PM in a GNAC game. Emmanuel (1-5, 0-3 GNAC) will travel to Norwich University for a GNAC game at the same date and time.
