WOMEN'S LACROSSE DROPS SEASON OPENER TO REGIS, 15-8

Weston, Mass.--The Emmanuel College women's lacrosse team fell to Regis College, 15-8 on Thursday (Mar. 17). The Pride moves to 1-1 overall on the season while the Saints move to 0-1 on the season. It was the first match in the history of the program for the Saints' women's lacrosse team.
Logan Carr (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Saratoga Springs High School) led the offense for the saints. Carr tallied five goals on the game. Madeline Leahy (Cohasset, Mass./Cohasset High School) helped the Saints offense by scoring two goals in the game. The Saints defense was led by Hilary Dandurant (Merrimac, Mass./Pentucket Regional High School) who tallied eight saves on the game.
The Saints grabbed their first goal in team history at 26:39 of the first half off the stick of Leahy, with Allie Bleier (Wilmington, Mass.) adding another minutes later. Emmanuel trailed 9-4 at the end of the first half but came back to finish the contest with three of the final total goals scored in the game.
The Pride was led by freshman Teresa Busiek (Arlington, Mass./Arlington Catholic) who tallied seven goals on the game. Junior Teresa Crevier (Milford, Mass./Montrose) chipped in with four goals. Franli Benscome (Lawrence, Mass./Essex Agricultural and Tech) helped out with three goals on the game. Tana Presutti-Dicenso (Framingham, Mass./Marian) rounded out the scoring for the Pride tallying one goal. The Pride's defense was led by Meghan Ryan (Stow, Mass./Iona College). Ryan provided the team with seven saves on the game. The Pride's defense forced the Saints to take outside shouts with many going wide of the net. This strong defensive effort continued for most of the game for the Pride.
The Pride's next matchup is Saturday (Mar. 19) against Endicott College. The Saints next contest is against Rhode Island College Saturday (Mar. 19) and will be played at Roberto Clemente Field.
