Bio

Amanda Laws enters her third season as Emmanuel College's Head Women's Lacrosse Coach. Laws began the program at Emmanuel, with the Saints competing at the club level in 2010 and coached the team in its inaugural varsity season in 2011. Over her two-year stint with the Saints, Laws has an overall record of 8-19. She coached the Saints to their first-ever post-season tournament appearance in 2012, leading Emmanuel to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) quarterfinals.

Coach Laws came to Emmanuel after acquiring a wealth of coaching experience at different levels. She spent two seasons as a Division I Assistant Coach at the University of New Hampshire. While at UNH, Laws helped the Wildcats to two American East Tournament appearances. During her time with the Wildcats, Laws was primarily responsible for coaching the goalkeepers and assisting with the defense.

Laws also coached lacrosse at the club and high school levels. She was a head coach of the Nor'easter Lacrosse Club from 2005-2007 and the head coach of the Medford High School Girls Lacrosse Team in 2004. While at Medford, Laws led the Mustangs to a program-record for wins in a season and to the program's first-ever state tournament appearance.

As a player, Laws was a standout goalie at the Yale University, earning All-Ivy League honors in 2003. Laws' team was ranked 8th nationally and won an Ivy League Championship in 2003. She also led the program to the quarterfinals of the national tournament during the same year. Currently, Laws serves as one of 13 members on the Yale Lacrosse Association Board.

Laws earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Yale University in 2003. She also holds a Masters degree in Sport Studies from the University of New Hampshire, and another from Boston College in Mental Health Counseling.
