BOSTON – In the final batch of College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team® student-athletes of the spring, six women's lacrosse players have earned a spot on the CSC Academic Team® as At-Large selections, as announced by the CSC on June 25.
Class of 2024's Alyssa Hogan (Westborough, Mass.), class of 2025's Abby Brown (Saco, Maine) and Delaney Brown (Agawam, Mass.), and class of 2026's Livia Fedele (Spencerport, N.Y.), Ella Marschitz (Naperville, Ill.), and Halle Miller (Hudson, N.H.) have all been named CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team® selections.
Various athletic criteria were necessary for nomination to the CSC Academic At-Large All-District Team®, changing the previous criteria used in years past. To be nominated as an At-Large selection in women's lacrosse, a student-athlete had to compete in 90 percent of a team's total games played or be a starter in 66 percent of those contests.
Hogan earns her first nomination to the CSC Academic All-District Team® following a final season of 17 points on three goals and 14 assists while starting all 20 games for the Saints. Hogan was also honored as the Emmanuel Athletics Scholar-Athlete before graduating for maintaining the highest cumulative GPA among all class of 2024 student-athletes.
Abby Brown joins Hogan as a first-time selection to the CSC Academic All-District Team® after a career-high 23 points on 17 goals and six assists, appearing in all 20 games for Emmanuel in 2024.
Delaney Brown makes her second appearance on the All-District Team® after another lockdown defensive season for the Saints. Delaney Brown set a single-season program record for caused turnovers in a season with 58. She was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defender of the Year and was a GNAC First-Team All-Conference selection.
Fedele built on her impressive rookie campaign with a career-best season of 50 goals, 32 assists, and a team-high 82 points. Through two seasons at Emmanuel, the sophomore attack has 151 career points, already placing her sixth in career points in women's lacrosse program history.
Marschitz started all 20 games for the Saints this season and contributed in all areas of the field with 45 points on 18 goals and 27 assists. In addition, she finished the season with 58 draw controls, 29 ground balls, and 17 caused turnovers.
Miller also started all 20 games for the Saints, making her impact on defense in 2024. She set new career bests with 23 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers this past season.
Familiar criteria remained in place as nominees must still be sophomores in academic standing and hold a 3.50 cumulative GPA. Graduate students are judged based on their final undergraduate cumulative GPA for nomination until a new graduate program GPA has been established.
Unlike in past years, the nomination to the Academic All-District® team does not necessarily move a student-athlete into consideration for the Academic All-America® ballot. A committee, comprised of Academic All-America® Core Members and members from the CSC will determine which athletes move to the All-America ballot.
Once the ballot is released, CSC members have until July 2 to vote for Academic All-Americans®. The CSC will announce the Academic All-America® Teams on Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17.
