Women’s Lacrosse Garners 2023 IWLCA Academic Accolades
NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women's lacrosse team received multiple academic awards from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for the 2022-23 academic year. The Saints placed seven student-athletes on the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. In addition, EC was among 290 schools across NCAA Division I, II, III, and the NAIA to be named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.

The Saints placed seven student-athletes on the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. In addition, EC was among 290 schools across NCAA Division I, II, III, and the NAIA to be named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.
To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. To qualify for the Academic Honor Squad, the team must have posted at least a 3.2 GPA for the academic year. The Saints earned a spot on this prolific list with a 3.43 cumulative team GPA and were one of 165 Division III programs recognized.
The IWLCA honored 963 student-athletes from 173 different institutions on the 2023 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. EC was one of 23 Division III schools from Massachusetts to earn honors and one of the seven Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) institutions on the list.
Seniors Ali Bergin (Newbury, Mass.), Alyssa Santangeli (Watertown, Conn.) and Megan Steele (Auburn, Maine) along with juniors Alyssa Hogan (Westborough, Mass.), Nicole Hunter (South Windsor, Conn.), Becca Raby (Auburn, Maine) and Gabby Serra (New Bedford, Mass.) were the seven Saints to earn a spot on this year's IWLCA Honor Roll.
Emmanuel wrapped up the 2023 campaign with an overall record of 14-5, posting a 10-3 mark in GNAC action to earn the No. 4 seed in the GNAC tournament. The Saints enjoyed a 14-7 victory over No. 5 Colby-Sawyer College in the GNAC Quarterfinals before bowing out of the field to the eventual GNAC Champions in top-seeded Johnson & Wales University 14-5, in the Semifinal round.
