Women's Lacrosse Thumps Regis, 14-2
BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse team cruised to a 14-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory Wednesday evening over visiting Regis College. The Saints scored six unanswered goals to open the contest and never looked back to improve to 11-4 on the year while the loss drops the Pride to 6-7 overall.

THE LEAD - The Emmanuel College women's lacrosse team cruised to a 14-2 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory Wednesday evening over visiting Regis College. The Saints scored six unanswered goals to open the contest and never looked back to improve to 11-4 on the year while the loss drops the Pride to 6-7 overall.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- During the 6-0 surge to open the contest, EC got a pair of goals from first year Brianna Stephenson (Waterboro, Maine), first year Livia Fedele (Spencerport, N.Y.) and sophomore Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.). Stephenson scored back-to-back goals to open play before Fedele made it 3-0 with 6:44 remaining in the first.
- Srimouksavanh closed the first quarter with consecutive markers, the latter coming with just five seconds left in the frame to give Emmanuel a 5-0 cushion at the end of the first.
- Following 10 minutes of scoreless play into the second, Fedele made it 6-0 with an unassisted score to cap the strong start for the hosts.
- Regis got on the board late in the second as Morgan Pero (Hartford, Vt.) fed Kylee Marley (Westerly, R.I.) for the goal with 1:36 to play in the half to move the needle to 6-1.
- Emmanuel got it right back as Fedele set up first year Ella Marschitz (Naperville, Ill.) for a finish with 24 tics left in the quarter to account for a 7-1 halftime score.
- EC continued to dominate in the third, holding the Pride scoreless while increasing its lead to 12-1. Stephenson scored bookend tallies to open and close the frame while senior Megan Steele (Auburn, Maine) Srimouksavanh and junior Alyssa Hogan (Westborough, Mass.) added goals in the action.
- First year Rachel Canedy (Woodstock, Conn.) got into the scoring mix in the fourth, hitting the twine with back-to-back goals before Marley closed out the action with her second of the evening to make it a 14-2 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Saints owned a 36-5 shots advantage in in the win.
- Sophomore goalie Isabella Thomas (Miami, Fla.) picked up the win to move to 9-5 on the season, making three saves.
- Regis first year keeper Daniela Mazo (Bridgeport, Conn.) suffered the setback in net despite a 11 save outing.
- Stephenson led all players with four goals while Srimouksavanh finished with three to go with two assists for five points.
- Fedele also had five points on two goals and three assists.
- EC takes a 6-5 lead in the all-time series vs. the Pride with the victory.
- With the win, the Saints keep pace with Colby-Sawyer to stay in the hunt for a chance to host a GNAC tourney game when postseason play begins on Saturday, April 29.

- Emmanuel is back in action on Saturday, April 22 for their final home game of the regular season vs. Anna Maria College at 3:00 PM. Prior to the start of the game; the Saints will hold a brief Senior Day ceremony to honor the members of the Class of 2023.
