Women’s Lacrosse Sets Single-Game Goals Record in Season-Opener vs. SUNY Potsdam
HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Emmanuel College women’s lacrosse program scored a single-game program record in their 2023 opener vs. SUNY Potsdam, netting 25 goals in the 25-16 romp over the Bears down in Hilton Head, South Carolina.

THE LEAD – The Emmanuel College women's lacrosse program scored a single-game program record in their 2023 opener vs. SUNY Potsdam, netting 25 goals in the 25-16 romp over the Bears down in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- EC scored eight goals in the first half before turning it on in the second half, depositing 17 in the back of the net to secure the single-game goals record at 26. The Saints topped the previous mark of 23 goals set last April in a 23-9 win over Rivier on April 2, 2022.
- Sophomore goalie Isabella Thomas (Miami, Fla.) played three quarters in net to earn her first collegiate victory in goal while junior goalie Gabriela Serra (New Bedford, Mass.) saw action in one quarter in the win.
- Part of the Saints success was a direct result of their performance on draw controls as the Saints posted 21 on the afternoon including a team-high of five from sophomore middie Deja Srimouksavanh (Portsmouth, N.H.).
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- EC first year middie Ella Marschitz (Naperville, Ill.) led the offensive attack with seven points on five goals and two assists while fellow first year Emily Gates (Waterford, Conn.) also scored five goals including four in the second half.
- Senior Megan Steele (Auburn, Maine) chipped in with six points on three goals and three assists while Srimouksavanah tallied five points on four goals and one helper.
- For the Bears, senior attack Anita Reitano (Averill Park, N.Y.) scored six goals to lead the Bears. Senior captain Hannah Stevenson (Canton, N.Y.) and junior captain Lindsey LaDue (Massena, N.Y.) each added three goals.
- SUNY sophomore midfielder Mia Martin (Six Nations, Ontario) had two goals and an assist while sophomore attack Mallory Marks (Brownville, N.Y.) and junior defender AnnaBelle Mitchell (Akwesasne, N.Y.) also scored a goal each.

- Emmanuel returns North and opens Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play this Friday, March 10 at Colby-Sawyer College in a 3:00 PM tilt.
