HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Saints made it a no-doubter right from the opening draw, scoring their first goal of the action just 23 seconds in on a score by senior Jessica Borduas (Woodbury, Conn.). The goal was the 100th point of her career making her the 13th player in program history to reach the milestone.
- EC piled it on early, building a 4-0 lead in less than four minutes of action as Borduas added her second of the night followed by goals from first year Anna Drillen (Readfield, Maine) and sophomore Alyssa Hogan (Westborough, Mass.).
- The Lasers found the scoring column with 7:59 to play in the opening quarter on a goal by Sydney Brady but EC responded with three unanswered scores on goals by Drillen, Srimouksavanh and Abby Brown (Saco, Maine) to move their lead to 7-1 with 3:35 left in the first.
- Lasell capped the first quarter scoring on Brady's second marker of the action but Emmanuel played some of its best team lacrosse of the season in the second quarter to outscore the Lasers by a 7-1 margin for the 14-3 halftime advantage. Borduas, junior Megan Steele (Auburn, Maine), and Brown all scored during the period while Srimouksavann and Drillen tacked on two more goals each to account for the first half totals.
- The Saints outscored Lasell by a 3-2 margin in the third to bump the lead to 17-5 as Srimouksavanh scored twice for EC with the other marker coming from first year Rachel Canedy (Woodstock, Conn.). Brady netted both LU markers in the quarter to make it five on the night.
- The squads traded goals to open the fourth on an LU goal by Teresa Kessner followed by an Emmanuel marker by Hogan to move the ticker to 18-6, EC. Serena Speight and Kessner added late Lasell goals to account for the 18-8 final in favor of the host Saints.
