DAVIS, LEBEL NAMED TO ALL-GNAC TEAM

The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) recently released its 2010 men's and women's basketball All-Conference Teams. Two Emmanuel student-athletes received All-GNAC nods. Senior guard Iman Davis (Toms River, N.J.) was selected a 1st Team pick, while junior guard Kristin LeBel (Tolland, Conn.) was named to the 2nd Team.
Davis, a senior tri-captain, powered the Saints to their fourth-straight GNAC title. She led the squad in three major categories including, points (13.8 ppg), rebounds (7.3 rpg), and steals (2.9 spg). Davis is both Emmanuel's and the GNAC's all-time leading scorer. She is also the conference's all-time leader in steals.
Davis was joined by four other GNAC players on the First Team. Kendrae Walker (Albertus Magnus), Lauren Zaniboni (Emerson), Alexia Ramirez (Johnson & Wales), and Stephanie Fox (Simmons) rounded out the First Team. Walker was voted the GNAC Women's Basketball Player of the Year.
Junior guard Kristin LeBel received Second Team recognition. LeBel averaged 13.7 points per game and knocked down 38 three-pointers during the year, shooting .342 from behind the arc. She was joined on the 2nd Team by Ally Daniels (Norwich), Olivia DiNucci (Emerson), Jess Mellen (Rivier), and Julianna Eagles (Simmons). DiNucci was voted the GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Year, while Daniels was chosen the GNAC's Defensive Player of the Year.
The GNAC also recognized five players on the Third Team. They included Meghan Daigle (Saint Joseph's), Erica Rate (Norwich), Ilaria Schiano (Saint Joseph), Kathy Andrade (Emerson), and Meghan Black (Suffolk).
