NASHUA, N.H. - The Emmanuel College Women's Basketball Team snapped Rivier College's five-game win streak on Saturday afternoon with a 96-81 defeat of the Raiders. This win extended Emmanuel's win streak to nine games and helped the Saints remain perfect in conference play with an 8-0 mark. The Saints are now 14-6 on the season, while Rivier dropped to 13-6 overall and 5-2 in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC).
The game featured 9 ties and 9 lead changes, but Emmanuel College used a 10-0 spurt in the final eleven minutes to pull away from their five-point lead and seal the win. The Saints were deadly from deep, as they connected on nine three-point daggers. Emmanuel forced Rivier into 21 turnovers and converted them into 32 points, which proved to be the deciding factor in the win. Despite sending the Raiders to the line 45 times, the Saints were able to return to Boston with the 15-point win.
Emmanuel was led by junior guard Iman Davis' (Toms River, N.J.) 31 points. Davis also pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Kristin LeBel (Tolland Conn.) followed close behind as she dropped in 22 points to go with 6 steals.
