Kiera Eubanks (Portland, Maine) opened the game's scoring with a layup before the Bantams erupted on an 18-2 run to over the remaining nine minutes of the quarter. Trinity's run included baskets from seven different players that was highlighted by a four-point play from junior guard Indi DelRocco (Brandford, Conn.). Trinity was able to extend their 14-point first quarter lead to 20 before halftime, taking a 33-13 advantage into the break.
The second half saw the Saints looking to chip away at the Bantams lead. A lively Emmanuel defense held the visitors to just nine points on 22.2% shooting in the third quarter. A three pointer from Olivia Matela (Swampscott, Mass.) and a jump-shot from Desiree Robinson (New Haven, Conn.) cut the lead to 15 at 42-17 as the third frame came to close.
15 was as close as the Saints would get as the two sides traded baskets throughout the fourth quarter. Olivia Vick (Chicago, Ill.) and Emma Wax (Pine Brook, N.J.) lead the charge in maintaining the lead with eight and seven points apiece. Five different Saints recorded a field goal in the quarter before the sound of the final horn secured a 60-44 victory for Trinity.
Wax was the game's leading scorer with 13 points for the Bantams, also adding seven rebounds and five assists. The Saints were led by Matela with eleven points. First-year center Kaitlyn Bartash (Standish, Maine) added seven points, six rebounds, and three blocks.
